Code of Ethics

Introduction

GAF a.s. is committed to complying with all applicable laws at all times and strives to uphold the highest ethical standards in its relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, competitors, public authorities and communities, as well as with regard to the environment. This Code of Ethics sets out the minimum requirements applicable to GAF a.s. in the areas of business ethics and compliance with laws, regulations and internationally recognized standards.
 

Laws and Ethical Standards

GAF a.s. fully supports the main principles of the United Nations concerning business and human rights. In its business activities, GAF a.s. expects its suppliers and business partners to respect human rights, labor rights and the right to fair and equal treatment.
Discrimination on the grounds of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, physical abilities, political beliefs, social origin, or family or parental status will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Child labor or any other form of exploitation of children or minors is not accepted, regardless of the country in which business activities are conducted. All applicable national and international laws concerning the protection of minors must be strictly observed.
Applicable statutory or sector-specific regulations concerning minimum wages must also be strictly observed.
 

Remuneration and Working Hours

The Supplier shall, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, comply with all legislation and regulations governing working hours, wages, benefits and the right to establish or join trade unions.
 

Health and Safety

The Supplier is required to ensure the protection of health and provide a healthy and safe working environment, and to comply with all applicable legislation, regulations and requirements. The Supplier shall take measures to prevent accidents and harm to health. The Supplier shall provide adequate training and preventive medical examinations.
 

Environment

The Supplier is required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and standards relating to environmental protection. The Supplier shall also establish and maintain an effective system for identifying and eliminating potential environmental risks. The Supplier shall also implement a strategy for reducing CO₂ emissions in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
 

Personal Data Protection

The Supplier is required to ensure strict compliance with legislation governing the protection of personal data. The Supplier shall keep personal data confidential and process such data only for legitimate purposes. The Supplier undertakes to adequately protect such data and not to disclose it to third parties.
 

Protection of Tangible and Intangible Assets

The Supplier must not misuse the tangible or intangible assets of GAF a.s. or any other business partner. The Supplier is required to maintain the confidentiality of corporate correspondence and business, financial, technological and technical data.
 

Business Partners

Subcontractors and business partners providing goods or services to the Supplier are likewise required to comply with all applicable regulations, standards and obligations arising from this Code. GAF a.s. expects its suppliers to make reasonable efforts to ensure compliance with this Code throughout their own supply chains and to monitor and promote its implementation.
 

Corruption and Improper Payments

The Supplier is required to comply with international anti-corruption standards established by the United Nations Global Compact and with applicable local anti-corruption laws. Money laundering and the financing of terrorism must not be directly or indirectly facilitated. Such activities are strictly prohibited.
 

Conflicts of Interest

The Supplier is required to inform GAF a.s. of any situation that could be perceived as a conflict of interest. This obligation also applies to representatives, employees or contract workers who may have an economic connection or any other business interest in the relevant business activity.
 

Self-Assessment and Audits

GAF a.s. may at any time require its suppliers to carry out a self-assessment concerning compliance with this Code. If the self-assessment is not completed or significant deviations from the requirements of this Code are identified, GAF a.s. reserves the right to conduct an audit, either itself or through an external auditor.
 

Consequences

GAF a.s. trusts its suppliers to comply with this Code and to make every effort to achieve the standards set out herein. In the event of any violation of this Code by a Supplier, GAF a.s. shall be entitled to terminate any agreement or business relationship with the Supplier with immediate effect and without compensation. GAF a.s. also reserves the right to take legal action at its discretion.
